That Time of year...

So I have been awful at keep up with this. My excuse is the fact I am still not feeling well. But we have come to the conclusion that my spine is curved in two spots which we knew, but it has gotten worse. Thus explaining my massive migraines ( my Atlas which is your first vertebra is tilted to the right 6 degrees and forward 10 degrees explaining why my entire body isn't functioning correctly.) and my L3 nerve is smooshed explaining why my kidneys and entire digestive system are not working. Meaning I can't eat the food I love and basically anything I eat it hurts me more. So with all this during usually one of my favorite times a year I can't enjoy it to the fullest.

On the bright side of this time of year it actually snowed in Houston. Which for me living in Abilene the past 4 years I was like this is nothing...but it was still nice. I obviously was a very good girl I got a Nikon SLR for Christmas A mazzzzzing!!!! Well there is a little update I am really feeling the pain now so I must go.

It has been a long time I know. I have been pretty with school and being sick for most of the semester. For the past month I have had recurring kidney infections and let me tell you they are not fun not one bit. Not to be too gross but lets just say I have kept much in my body this past month. I have been on about 9 or so different antibiotics and nothing seams to get ride of it or it did then as soon as I was off it another one came a calling. I haven't been able to eat my most favorite things because of course they go through your kidneys including coffee, tea, red meat, anything with an excessive amount of salt. I have been drinking cranberry juice like its going out of style and I am pretty sure Dr. Sanders is tired of seeing me in his office haha. The thing that is most annoying is all the doctors in abilene that can't figure it out. Let me tell you kidney pain is NOT fun! stay tuned for updates I will be keeping it up more because I don't do much now that I am in pain and in Sugar Land for the time being. Al I can ask for are prayers.

Since I looked at Kandy's blog I shall give this a go. Yes I know I have been slacking in the updating my blog area.I give you the fast version for now. I have been doing a lot of sleeping and nothing. It is my last summer of freedom so I am abusing it. So much that I haven't been to church but like one time...I know I am a sinner. More later but for now my 10 truths.

1. I have a total of 11 tattoos,and secretly want to become a tattoo artist.

2. I have a turtle named Rambo!

3. I could eat mexican food and Armenian food all day everyday and be soooo happy!

4. I enjoy painting its relaxing.

Summer has begun the humid heat is not kind to my hair. I have been taking it easy the first few weeks but now its crunch time! If all works out I will be taking a cna class and possibly working just to give myself something to do.I have only had a few weeks of summer and I am already so freakin bored with it. All though I do have my cousin Seelva's wedding June 7th so I'm getting ready for that. This past sunday was Senior Tea and Seelva (my sister) was in that. Her story was the best by far! peeing in my closet crying on command. For those of you who do not know what that is. It's something my home church puts together for the graduating seniors pictures,funny stories,cake,food and gifts! It's a really nice tradition I still remember my senior tea...good times! Well lets see what this week has in store for me I have to figure out all this mumbo-jumbo.

Summer Time

There he is Rambo!! He is a Red Ear Slider and he is 5 years old. Yup that's him! He is pretty friendly for a turtle . It's kinda funny watching him swim into a corner and not really getting that he isn't moving.

I have finally moved out of UP the worst apartments ever!!! I now live in a house it is 100 times better! As you know I took a beating while moving into the house. Let me tell you it is not easy moving. I will be going to Sugar Land tomorrow so a nice 6 hour drive that is always fun. So stay tuned for that excitingness!

RAMBO!!!

So a really good friend of mine is getting married and going to Japan to be with her man...who is in the marines or something like that.Anyways she couldn't take her turtle Rambo with her so I have adopted him!! Pictures coming soon. What else is going on...I'm moving into a house thank GOD for that! My room is twice the size of my entire apartment which I have been living in this past year and paying ACU way too much for this sad little place. I am living with some pretty amazing girls! Callie and Amy! and their dogs Button and Lola. We have the land lords from heaven! They are the sweetest couple, they send us pre-stamped/addressed envelopes and a little reminder when rent is due. I mean how cute is that!!

I have been slowly moving into the house this past week. FUNNY story okay so y'all know I have no balance what so ever and my right ankle is pretty much useless well I was carrying this container full of my dishes down stairs and after one step down the stairs....BAM I ate it i rolled down the stairs and my box landed on me. Don't worry the plates were safe I made sure of that. Me on the other hand I think I really messed up my ankle and I have a nice bruise on my ribs from the box landing on me.Other than that I am okay I think, I could totally be a spokesperson for Corelle though because through that big fall of like 14 steps my plates, bowls and cups made it!!! gotta love Corelle stuff!

first post of 2009...it's about time

Hello! it has been awhile...well I have had a lot going on to say the least. I haven't blogged since last freakin year! to start off I have been so busy and the busyness doesn't stop. As the spring semester comes to an end and yes I am still doing nursing but at a slower pace...ha I am not in any sort of rush,and still at ACU I had a rough fall semester so I decided to take it easy this semster. Now that the semester is just about done...Seelva is graduating high school I can't believe that!!!! it makes me feel so old. Sevahn got into medical school yup yup. and Anaheed well she is getting more grown up it's crazy!

I had 2 jobs this semester just to kill time since I took a light semester. I worked at Kohl's it was nice the people I worked with were really nice. I also worked for another OB/GYN in Abilene doing office work and such things basically the same thing I did for Dr.Wolhfahrt. It was fun I realized I like working in the medical field a lot! Now I will be in Houston for the summer just soaking up all that Armenian goodness! Having parties all the time drinking tea and eating crepes with my mezmama .

So here we are again. I don't remember if I mentioned this movie marathon I was doing starting Friday night at 6pm to Saturday 8pm. It to get into this club kfc. It was fun but hard towards the end.... and not to mention they were all Tom Cruise movies one of my least favorite actors.There were rules you had to cheer and scream the first time you saw his name come up,first time he appeared on screen,any time he kissed or got some lovin,any action beating scene and at the end credits.Only after you saw his name in the credits could you have a 5 minute break for the next movie started. So I'm am proud to say I MADE IT!!!!! even though I hate tom cruise!!! I did it! It was fun 8 of us did it and technically only 6 of us made it 4 girls and 1 guy but we said the other kinda made it....I guess. That was my fun filled weekend.

Thanksgiving is almost here! I'm so ready for a break its about that time where everyone is on edge and in desperate need of a break. Some away from Abilene time...can I get an AMEN! Its starting to get cold here which puts me in the holiday mood!

I may post some random things but I'll have a big one after thanksgiving!!!

Geekiness

It has been awhile I know and I'm sorry. It's been a rough and long semester. If you really want to know ask me its too depressing to blog it. Since the last time I blogged what has happened....I'm 21 haha like that makes a difference for me. I made dinner for Taylor and Karen last week, I hadn't seen them in awhile, so that was fun. Taylor and I sat around talking until 11:30 about such important things including World of Warcraft (WoW) and he was amazed I knew what that was and I must say it was the happiest day of my life. I found out I BEAT a video game that Taylor didn't!!! You wanna know which one you have to ask me... Friday I went to a surprise birthday party for Blake that was nice. I think he enjoyed it. This is another reason my life is so fun, I was sitting around with some friends and they were like Sonia you're a nerd,geek,punk....haha its so true and I've learned to enbrace it! I enjoy studying my biology and chemistry....(my nerdiness) I like random dumb things like video games,star wars and other things...(my geekiness) and my punkness just because I listen to amazing music and like the color black. I just like to call it Soneeg!

I've been swamped with school. Its really stressful trying to make sure everything is in order to apply for nursing school. I've been really stressing over it so if you could just keep that in your prayers!

Something kinda fun happening this weekend! Friday starting at 6pm I will be watching movies non-stop for 26 hours to become a member of KFC....NOT Kentuky Fried Chicken. We can't fall asleep at all so we shall see if I can make it. The crappy thing is they choose one actor and only show their movies they picked Tom Cruise one of my least favorite actors. Just my luck! But I'm still pumped about it!!!

What else....oh I went to Dallas the past 2 weekends.That was fun for the most part . Last time I went Sevahn, Seelva and Anaheed came up to. We hung out with Seta, Steve...Seelva and Justin were in town so that was kinda nice. Thats all I got for now.

Oh yea and I verse that has been on my heart for sometime....

Week-end

So a last minute trip to Sugar Land is what I'm doing tomorrow. The parentals wanted to see me as always. We planned on meeting in our normal happy middle place my aunt Lucie's in Dallas but that didn't happen this time. They wanted to all come up to Abilene...HAHA no I was like I'll come to you because it will take me an hour to show you the wonders of Abilene.I will venture off to Sugar Land and see all that has changed since I've been gone...seriously Ike canged stuff. Not to mention it's the weekend before my 21st birthday. That's right folks clear the roads another Armenian has turned 21 and really the number means nothing to us but here in the U.S.A. it means a little something...We shall see how this turns out. Not much else to report here. School is fine,friends are amazing! and that's all I got for now....Y'all have a good weekend!

Ike... and some

Hey guys! so hurricane Ike was a doozy! Man when I don't live at home anymore that's when all the exciting stuff happens. Yeah I love bad weather its so exciting! Our house didn't get too much damage, I think 1 of 6 satellite dishes fell and the roof is kinda beaten up but that is the extent of what happened....they did get their power back Saturday!!!! yeah that's how cool we Allahverdian's are. I think they kept having Armenian hurricane parties all week long since they didn't have school all week long. While all that maddness is going on in Sugar Land I am living my oh so exciting life in Abilene...
so I mentioned my death education class I am taking right. Well this week was pretty intense and hard. One of our assignments this week was to write our own suicide note and analyze it. Yeah weird and depressing, well writting it was really hard but 4 hours later and 4 pages later it was finished! My teacher read it and said that it was the best one he had ever read...compliment?? I'm not sure. He read it to the class (they didn't know it was mine) and people started crying sorry I can't help it I'm really good at writting(p.s. do you know how many people asked to read it a lot!) sorry though I don't think I want everyone to read that...writting it actually just made me appriciate everyone in my life even more! So with that I really appriciate all of you people in my life! Okay so if that wasn't sad enough I had to go to a cemetery and a funeral home and ask questions about all that. Guess what our next assignment is... you guessed right we have to plan out our own funeral. When is this assignment due you ask? MY BIRTHDAY!!!!! seriously October 2nd. sad day...

That's enough about that class for now. This weekend I'm going to watch Button!!! Callie's yorkipoo puppy! I'm her godmother that's right. It should be fun! but on the down side I'm sick I don't know what it is my ears, throat, body its all in pain...alrighty well that's all for now.

Its been raining for the past 3 days here in Abilene....which hey I love rainy weather thunderstorms, hurricanes, tornadoes bring it! I love bad weather it just meakes me happy! But with all that said I'm kinda ready for it to stop only because Abilene being the amazing city it is does NOT have a drainage/sewage system! Who ever designed this city wasn't thinking. So it floods super fast! Not to mention all I want to do when it rains is nap, watch movies and eat! Besides all this rain life still happens. Classes are keeping me pretty busy.I'm basically living in the Foster Science Building! it's not as fun as it sounds trust me. If I'm not studying these days I've been reading my bible a lot. I never realized how amazing this book is! and I'm still listening to those sermons. I'm re-listening to the Love one...I'm catching things I missed last time.

Healing and Settling

So the first week of classes are over! It's going to be a busy semester but my classes are going to be really good and interesting. I'm taking this class over death education I know your thinking that's gross and depressing and yeah it will be at times but I'm looking forward to it.I mean everyone has to deal with death it's a part of life so might as well learn the right way to cope with it. I'm sure I'll bring that class up again. I have to get in the swing of things and finish getting my place settled in. It may take some time because I have no space in this little hole, so it always looks kinda messy :( but I will have pictures soon! oh yea so this is how ghetto my place is... Every time I would get out of the shower the stupid fire alarm would go off!! this happened for awhile and only when I took a shower...I mean I know I'm hot but come on people, they should control the fire alarm to realize the difference between me and a fire.haha They fixed though so it's all good.

Not much else going on here in Abilene.Oh I had Karen and her room mate Emily over for dinner last night. I thought they would like a home cooked meal and a break from the bean. It was fun we caught up and hung out for the night. Ryan and Taylor came over later for dessert and Armenian coffee.

The sermon I've been listening to is about healing broken hearts it's really good.Right now he's talking about finding beauty in ashes. That really got to me. Every thing you've been through God will turn around and make them beautiful! Turning all the hurt, brokenness and pain in our lives into beauty! Which sounds really good! He says he will give us double the joy for our troubles our "ashes" I still have a hard time with this I think I need to trust in god a little more because I don't really see the beauty in my ashes just yet. I haven't finished listening to this series yet so once I'm finished I'll have a few more things to say.

Love and Abilene

Where to start...Camp Imani went really well. It was the first year Kathy was kind of the lone director and we had a total of 5 churches involved! They all did a GREAT Job! I want to say this was the best year of Imani so far....and not just because I was there.haha but really We had about 300 people this year. I know the teens that went really enjoyed it because they became really close with each other. That just made it so worth it! churches mingling, kids getting closer .yay! happy day! One of the only pictures of me at camp was the sloppy joe eating contest...I almost won! like really really close! because I actually ate it! unlike Sevahn and Seelva they just smeared it on their faces and mine!mmmm DELISH!

After camp I had 3 days to finish packing and head to Abilene!!! and I had 3 suspicious moles removed so we shall see what the results are. Trying to move in with stitches in the worst places is not a good idea. Thank the Lord for Ryan he helped me move in my 3rd floor itty pitty apartment with a smile on his face!
Once I finish unpacking and make it look amazing I will post pictures! My roommate Whitney is really sweet.She is getting married in December so she is busy with wedding preparations. She has a dog his named Dobby he is a hoot! I like having him around,he reminds me of Raki!

Classes start Monday I'm looking forward to school and at the same time I'm dreading it. I think once things start up it will be better. Right now I'm just trying to get back into normal-ness after a busy and stressful summer.

One thing I forgot was my Bible! I'm pretty bummed...I have another one but I left my main Bible the one that I have marked up and wrote in, with sticky notes all up in it. I guess I can just mark up this one too! I'm listening to these sermons that are pretty good. This guys name is Duane Sheriff he has a ministry where he does these sermons and gives CDs away. Justin graciously gave me a ton of these CDs. I have around 50 hours of sermons that I'm going to listen to. So get ready for some insight...good and bad I'm sure.

The first one I'm listening to is about Love. I think love is one of the most simple and at the same time most complicated words ever! In his sermon he said someone who really loves you doesn't give you or show you what you want but what you NEED.That is real love, that really does make sense if you think about it. For example God's love is something I will never full understand because at times he allows things to happen that I just don't understand why....but because he REALLY loves me he will let me go through things that will bring me closer to him and that I need to make me grow as a person.That does sound a little selfish but I'll take what I can get. This love isn't that fuzzy warm crap this is the real stuff. Lucky me I have people in my life that really love me! In a loving way they can snap me out of my funk and they are there for me and, I thank you...those of you who show me this real love!

Love is something that I still have trouble understanding but slowly I'm getting it.

Imani

Here we are my last week of work/summer....We've been getting ready for Camp Imani all week and recovering from sweet pea. Oh man I am ready for this camp to start!!! It's the biggest year we have had to date, over 300 people will be involved.I will definitely have a camp post with pictures if I can figure out how to post them.

So we were supposed to have this massive hurricane right what was it called Eduardo....dude what a pansy. I was super excited! I love bad weather, lightening thunder storms the whole sha-bang. So I was totally psyched and what do we get. Like sprinkling rain and that's it! LAME! I especially like how everyone was making a big deal out of the whole thing and nothing happened.

Now for my favorite part of the blog! I've been reading James the past 2 days. I have to say I think it may be my favorite book in the Bible! It basically tells us how to be good Christians. how we should like going through trials because that brings us closer to God and makes us stronger! We should listen and do! Not just listen and say yeah that's a great idea...but actually do it. I have really been trying to do better with that. I could go on and basically blog about the entire book in my own words maybe another day,but I do want to focus on one verse

I've always had a passion to adopt a bunch of kids as many as God wants me to have. With this verse woo I know it's what God wants! In my opinion that verse sums up what God wants from us. I think I can do that...It gets me all excited and pumped about becoming a nurse and starting whatever God has planned for me.

The Beginning

So here I am starting my first blog with blogger. I had a xanga but come on xanga is so old school. I'm going to leave it so I can go back and look at those posts but I will be using this for my primary blogging use. I'm hoping I will keep this updated because lets face it everyone wants to know what I am doing....I am after all an Armenian to Remember. HA!

Where to begin? It's August already!! oh snap! I've been home in Sugar Land all summer interning for Kathy again this summer. That is always fun! I love working with the kids it gives me such joy when they run down the hallway screaming my name SONEEG or Miss.Soneeeeeg I get so many hugs of the butt or jabs in the stomach from their heads but it is worth it. VBS went well it was over David a man after God's own heart....That gets me thinking I want to be a woman after God's own heart. I need to get working on that.

We put together a day camp this year for the ages of 3-2nd grade. Kathy was like so you can put together Sweet Pea Day camp right?? I was like sure....So I was the director of sweet peas first official year.....AHHH scary a little. 6 hours a day for 5 days with 63 kids. I had a lot of help from Julie so thank you JULIE!!! and Kathy was like you got this girl....haha The week of sweet pea was crazy!!! yesterday was the last day. I have never been so stressed in my life! Everyone was coming to me with questions and crap since I am the one in charge. I think it went well for the most part.Everyone kept telling me what a great job I did but I don't know I think they were just being nice. As long as the kids had fun I'm happy. Now it's crunch time for camp Imani!!! we are leaving for that Aug 9th. So that's what I've been up to in my work world. FUN stuff let me tell you! But seriously I love this job getting paid to hang out with kids and love on them and be goofy....the best job ever!

Alrighty now I'm excited about this blog. Now on a more spiritual note. This summer has been a big growing closer to God time for me, thanks to an amazing friend of mine who I've been talking to A LOT over this summer.....This person is such a blessing! I thank God for bringing him into my life when he did! So this entry is long enough I will continue this later....I will leave you with a verse that has been on my mind and getting me through this last week.
